Both 2008 and 2021 had the early ITT under 30 km, so 33 km next year is a positive surprise.

(we're just missing the second flat ITT)

Modulo no climbs, no cobbles, no gravel, barely any echelon bait, just hills, the first week is not as terrible as it could have been.

Last half:
- rest day -
Stage 11: Hilly, but probably one for the sprinters. Reduced bunch?
Stage 12: Hautacam MTF. Solour before, but all about the MTF.
Stage 13: MTT to Peyragudes. 11 km, 650m climb.
Stage 14: Superbagneres MTF. Tourmalet-Aspin-Peyresourde before. 5000m of climbing in 183 km. Almost a "proper" mountain stage.
Stage 15: Carcassone. Sprint or break?
-rest day-
Stage 16: Ventoux MTF unipuerto.
Stage 17: Sprint stage. Possible wind?
Stage 18: Col de la Loze MTF from Courchevel. Glandon and Madeleine before. 5500m of climb, 171 km. The "Queen stage"
Stage 19: La Plagne MTF. 130 km, 4600m of climbing.
Stage 20: Looks like a sprint stage, but almost 3000m of climbing, so possibly a good stage for the strong roleurs like Asgreen, Mohoric, Abrahamsen etc.
Stage 21: Champs-Elysees.

That penultimate stage is the weirdest *** ever. Why end the Tour with 2 sprint stages? Ok sure, doubt stage 20 will be a sprint with every sprinter and domestique tired, but still.

Don't have the energy to make a legendary whine tbh. It's completely uninspired, it all looks like poorly AI designed mountain stages, but it's not worse than 2023 and 2024.
This route is far worse than 2023/24 IMO. Atleast 2023 although unbalanced, had some fun stages and a fabulous grand depepart. 2024 although a MTF fest still had some awesome medium mountain stages.

Pontarlier stage not going into Switzerland means it’s unlikely to be hard enough to be anything other than a break stage.

I hope we'll see Padun again.
