Already need to make more popcorn! The annual "Bash The TDF Route" thread is always hands down one of the most entertaining of the year and the 2025 edition is looking to be an exceptional vintage.. We may need to call an intervention on this one, or at least have smelling salts ready or something! :p
I´m already getting hyped.

I had hoped the Madeleine stage would also include Glandon from the south, but it was probably never that likely to be the case.

Stage 9 reminds me of the stage Faulkner won in the 2022 Giro. I had feared the route would have too many MTF/HTFs, but it actually looks pretty good.

Hilly? A 52,5 kph TT? It isn't a hilly TT just because it has a small hill there. But yeah, it is ridiculous to think Remco would lose time to Vingo/Pogi in a early flat TT. In a flat 50 km TT, both aliens would lose around 45s-75s.
It was hilly, the avg speed is also influenced by the length of the stage.

MTF on Madeleine looks interesting for the women but otherwise it is the same uninspiring approach of the last two years, have a route of yada yada for one week and then a backloaded finish.

So Hautacam + MTT + Superbagneres in the Pyrenees, then Ventoux and then Col de la Loze and La Plagne in the Alps.

So Hautacam unipuerto vibes, Ventoux similar, Loze/Courchevel finish once again and La Plagne and Superbagneres as potentially the more interesting stages. Uncreative rubbish.

Why did we get a unique celebrations reel going as far as Sastre and Contador, during the Boulogne sur Mer stage presentation? Are they drunk too?
Hahahaha yeah I was like WTF that was the Ax 3 Domains finish in 2003 where Sastre celebrated, what does that have to do with this stage?

First part:

Stage 1: Nailed on bunch sprint.
Stage 2: A bit hilly, reduced upphill sprint? Can there also be risk of wind?
Stage 3: Bunch sprint. Wind?
Stage 4: A bit hilly. Reduced sprint? Potential break staying away? Late attacker to win solo? A bit of a shame this comes before the ITT, might hinder Pogcar to attack?
Stage 5: 33 km ITT. A bit longer than feared, good. Shouldve been 10-15 km longer.
Stage 6: Pretty hilly, 3500m of climb. Upphill sprint (10% they said). Good stage for a break?
Stage 7: Mur de Bretagne. 2 times up.
Stage 8: Bunchsprint with slightly upphill finish stretch.
Stage 9: Boring sprintstage. Could there be wind and echelons?
Stage 10: Mond Dore. Bastille day. Nailed on for the break.
