Very strong Alpecin. They waited for Groves to get back, they don’t care about GC. Mathieu as a domestique is a cheat code. Insanely strong. Hope he can take the jersey in the next days.

Philipsen easily the strongest of this group.

Lol at Bora rather using their guys for a lead out for 20th place instead of pacing the gap down for Roglic and Lipowitz.

Tbf who was up there that's realistically a concern in the fight for 3rd? They are not going to beat either Pog or Vingo. Almeida was also back, as was Remco. Everyone else Roglic should easily beat by minutes if he's on form.

So Jasper Disaster strikes again! Kinda disappointing that his biggest rivals weren't in the first group. Pogi & Vingo gain 39 seconds over the rest of the GC guys. It was interesting to see them pulling even a few km before the line of a sprint stage. But TBH this gap (given that top2 GC favorites gained) will likely not matter at the end. Few guys crashee today (fortunately) but one crash was absolutely epic and hillarious (brutal battle for one KOM point).

Ya, I think Jorgensen was the only issue. I don't really have much faith in Mas and O'Connor even before he crashed.
