You really don't know they used to use cardboard or newspapers to keep warm in the descent? Man I feel old..
Oh I totally know that, I've been watching cycling since 1984. I saw he'd grabbed a piece of it and first thing I thought was "He's going to stuff it down the jersey to keep warm, brilliant!" But then unless I missed it I thought he threw it away?

Threw away part of it, left enough to fit under his jersey

Remember back in 2004 when Mayo was ready to climb off but not allowed by his DS. Cycling has grown soft! ;)

I recall when cameras were watching him, waiting to abandon at any moment. He gestured for the camera guys to leave him alone, and they went, while he abandoned them.
