MUCH too late.

I wanted Visma to drop the hammer before even hitting the last climb.

This weak-ass attacking in the last 3K stuff ain't gonna cut it when you are over 4 minutes behind - it's a defeatist strategy.
In fairness it appears they had no team to do so, partly cause they sent them up the road in the break, but mostly because they are all stuffed

Very strong ride from Arensman but it looks like a gift from UAE to Ineos. Bizarre riding from UAE considering they pulled all day, if Pogacar attacks he wins that stage easily.

Small statement by Pogi enough to keep Visma discouraged.

And Gall the #3 uphill as he was in the last week of 2023.

Well, maybe that was Pogacars bad day and all this pacing was just to discourage Visma. Yesterday he said he nearly made himself explode at the end of the TT.
Yep

Visma never truly tested it, Pogacar can stick with anything over just 3K on sheer willpower, they should have gone long range.

But all the strategising is of course irrelevant if Vingegaard just didn't have the legs.
