And the jersey’s historical legacy in the modern era has not been “all-rounder” but instead either pure sprinter (Abdu, Zabel) or “pretty good sprinter that can get over hills” (Sagan, Hushold, Van Aert).It's more important that it's a competition that adds something to the race than that it rewards an alround rider. Rewarding an alround rider just means you're just handing more stuff to the guy who's already winning everything.
