A friend's mom was in Rimini on 27th July 1998. Suddenly people came running down the bar shouting "Attaco Pantani!". They weren't many Italians left on the beach afterwards!

Today no way to recognize riders bc of rain jackets. Better than usual but no numbers on jackets.

Kudos to Total Energies for putting race numbers on helmets. I have been boringly banging on for years about the idea of season-long squad numbers on helmets as a requirement (at least for WorldTeams)
