I don‘t think it‘s bad that there are no attacks yet, but you really don‘t seem to read his comments at all.

"No, but I don't think it makes as much sense now... It's a not a nailed on sprint, so these hills could be used for getting in breakaways. I suppose UAE would just squash it, but still."

which is a completely unrealistic expectation for a Paris stage. I guess that's a classic way to complain, make unrealistic expectations and then complain when they eventually do not happen.

Why? I really don't see a difference, they ended the photoshoot phase within 10kms, which seems less than usual to me
Thanks to God that the riders not idiot organizers had a sense of tradition, a sense of ceremony and an observation of mutual respect for one another making it to Paris, some guys barely after crashes. The battle is over. Taking photos, riders hugging family, friends, fans along the road..respect for the pageantry, riders before them. Whatever goon dreamed up foregoing the brief collective celebration and wanted the race full gas from the gun is out of touch.. Tens of thousands of bitter posts about cycling running headlong away from tradition, people dreaming about days of Eddy, Bernard, even LeMond, at least part of the final stage can pay homage to the race tradition.
My personal favorites are riders asking people to use their bathroom while they are standing in front of their house cheering on the race!! And on the route people tell riders where they are standing, riders will stop and take a quick picture or two, shake hands and be off..
The idea that race should be full speed and meaningful from kilometer one was misplaced, partially crazy, glad a collective cool prevailed,
Pogacar will likely pick entry speed and possibly get Geraint Thomas to lead the procession ,waving all the riders holding up bikes as he passes into retirement might be too much on such a hectic day..

Oh my, I've comitted a horrible crime by... Feeling like this is a really, really unhappy marriage between the classic parade stage and a normal stage... I had no idea what to expect! I'm just commenting on what I think about how it turned out.

edit: Can I just add that it doesn't help to have the GC times neutralised - I think a straight forward bunch sprint is likely to work best for a classic parade stage with no GC implications.

I really don't understand why this would be any different than a parade stage, apart from maybe giving some others riders giving a shot except the top 2-3 sprinters
