Just watched the remaining part of a heck of a stage after I yesterday had to break up on the live signal.

Kudos to Healey - Duracell battery finally got its well deserwed win! :)

And based on Pogi's post stage statements about that it seemed like Visma wanted him to keep the yellow colors, you have to credit him for a well timed sprint :p

Danish TV2 is so good at producing cycling

In their preshow, done on the Mûr de Bretagne, they happen to spot Dan Martin (now a civilian) cycling past.

1 minute after they have dug up a clip of him winning on the Mûr and run it

Hard to see who can beat Pog on a finish like today ...MvdP but is he recovered ?
Narviez but he is on the same team , Nys but he would need an easy race and just the final climb to contest and its already been a long Tour, Brennan but he is not here

Outside shots ? de Lie ? Skjelmose ? Gregoire ? Vauquelin ?

From a break Castrilo , Hirschi , O Connor or Mohoric ?

Van welder drops a big attack on the cote de saint Ilan

Remco disrupts the chase behind. There is a big gap and a lot of tension

UAE decides they need to use all Thier money to win everything so they chase van welder and catch him

Wellens attacks the penultimate climb and drives away. On the final climb Pocagar attacks and bridges to wellens. They arrive 1-2, a minute ahead of everyone else, and Pocagar gifts the stage to wellens, who climbs off his bike after the finish and performs exaggerated bows to Pocagar. Pocagar makes wellens kiss his feet.

Alaphiliphile wins the sprint for 3rd and takes the moral victory

Simon Yates turns around and rides backwards down the climb to finish with the grupetto

I just can't see him dropping Jonas on last climb TBH. But I also did not expect Jonas to botch his ITT so at least there is some anticipation.
If Pogacar goes all in Vingegaard will be dropped. So far he’s still having issues responding and was even losing ground yesterday before Pogacar stopped.

Will there be a break of any consequence? A long day for a couple of guys I'm guessing.
Visma are doing their best to wear down UAE & Pogacar as Visma know it's not a good move to go mano a mano with Pogi now. Keep attempting to send guys up the road and change the pace every now and then. Time will tell.

I feel like watching the TdF these days like like having an epileptic seizure of sorts. All I see are intermitting flashes of black, yellow and white on the front of the bunch, with riders in those colors jumping away, chasing each other, jumping away, chasing etc. rinse repeat. Then someone with rainbow stripes jumps from the front towards the end of a stage and another rider in black and yellow with a red helmet - along with his knees sticking out - chases after him. Or vice versa.

It's been that way since 2021, with only the actual colors of the jerseys changing somewhat over the years.

I guess we see things differently.

I have to watch on Max because TV2 is one big cringefest with low level cycling analysis.

If I was UAE I would just let Wout go solo.

Schmid also strong start of the stage.

Read Emil Axegaard's pre-stage analyses for all stages, and tell me again it's "low level cycling analysis" :p
Yes, fortunately Axelgaard managed to escape before the Boraghi dynasty took over Feltet.dk (awful now, and ofc she ditched the forum debate part).

I have to credit Danish TV2 for investing in in-depth cycling nerdism here, the lack here has been severe in the past.

But now I'm on holidays together with my family and have tuned into the main channel and I actually think it's going OK, also with the more cultural features in the evening presented by a cultually interested person.

Otherwise I would say that Danish TV2 has been a desert both in terms of sharpness with the cycling professionalism and the intellectual layer.

At least they have weaned themselves off the standard question "how much x, y, z do you think/have you had left in the tank/etc", which is where I cut the cable in the end.

Most of the time there's more entertainment on this board than on the actual race. In fact, I just watch the race to get the context for what's being discussed here.
