Would expect Vollering to be sitting in Van Vleuten’s wheel. A bad sign? Or just staying with Reusser and feeling strong herself.

In the first stage she dropped really early, bad sign and confirmed here again. She was 5th last year? Would’ve been one of the favorites next week but not sure in this form.

Why is Niewiadoma taking up the pace with Tourmalet to come?
She's trying to secure a podium. Also she's not someone who's going to refuse to pull.

I might get this slightly on a climb with steep sections, but on the Aspin, with a headwind it just doesn't make any sense.
That's her style of riding though, and she's used to SDW riders not wanting to do anything,
