AVV is a tough one. She has not been her usual dominating self, this year. Still managed to win a Vuelta and Giro. Gutsy ride, today.
It was inevitable. She's about to be 41. For her to win 5 of 6 GTs in her last 2 years is phenomenal.

So, is Vollering a great ambassador for cycling? And honest question, because I have no idea.

AVV not too shabby given she is 40?! Wow!

It would have been a bit embarrassing for Vollering not to demolish everyone. Although, it is a bit embarrassing that she did stomp everyone given her complete refusal to work earlier on, which it turns out was for absolutely no reason but b******* tactics from SD Jerx

After all the weird tactics and silliness, Vollering crushed it. I thought for a while they were just going to gift the GC to Kopecky, though fantastic ride by her. Will Niewiadoma be able to hang on to her podium spot tomorrow?

Have to say some of the TV shots were weird, they cut from Volleing to Moolman-Pasio with 200m to go for some reason and then barely made it back for Vollering crossing the line, did the same on a few other stages which to me is poor coverage.

I get the sense the poster was being facetious; for some she comes off as very prickly. To me she is just very direct, no candy coating, like most (in my experience) Dutch women. Some might want the ambassador for women's cycling to be a little more warm and fuzzy perhaps? That was my take on it.

Kopecky to gain 7sec on Van Vleuten tomorrow? And maybe even 45sec on Kasia?
Possible but she's 1-7 against AVV in time trials and the only time she beat her was by 3 seconds in a prologue.

Kopecky does seem to be in incredible form, however. And AVV could be wearing down after the Giro and Tour.

France TV coverage was abominable. From endless helicopter shots from above which went on & on like someone was attempting to make an arthouse movie out of a bike race, to cutting over to the 'chase group' on the Tourmalet which was 3 minutes down (the white jersey group). Horrible stuff.

I want to see her doing backflips into a swimming pool. But maybe that's just me.

Great win by Vollering. Nothing could be done about it. Although, Niewiadoma might have finished a little closer if she hadn't done the long solo... but you have to try, of course.

I get the feeling a lot of people on this forum are really obsessed with likeability. It's not a popularity contest, it's a sport. Yara Kastelijn is annoying as hell, a kind of female Thomas Voeckler, but she wins a stage and she does so in convincing fashion. Vollering can be a bit grumpy and full of adrenaline, but apparently that fuels her for some great performances so who cares.
