I thought she was a sprinter.

Also lmao, what is this team. Do they have the three best riders or whats going on. She was doing a peak Gilbert out there
Kopecky has been cranking out solo wins all year.

And gaps within the womens peloton are just much bigger.

I was surprised by how many riders got dropped even before the climb considering it was basically just a series of false flats.

So what is the time limit tomorrow, because with a climbing start that looks absolutely comical.
according to procyclingstats, its at 15%.

Edit: Added the pic. Yellow suits her, but she can it keep tomorrow?

The problem with women's cycling: You never see a race like the one in the men's Tour two days ago when there were attacks and chasing constantly throughout the stage.

The biggest problem in a race like TDFF is the gap between the very elite riders & teams at the front and the pro conti level riders & teams at the back, some of whom may have never raced at WWT level before.

Iris mentioned it in her comms bits some of the inexperienced domestiques were struggling to handle carrying more than 2 bottles at a time from team cars, the elite riders were taking 10.

You don't get that in the TdF, by dint of actually being in that race you are an elite level pro rider, you haven't had to take 3 weeks holiday from your day job and are getting paid for riding. There are riders in the TdFF who aren't being paid at all.

So you won't see attacks constantly of the type in the TdF we've seen because the riders abilities across the whole peloton dont support it.

But you will see more attacks in stages once the nerves have calmed down, I think today was almost a stage the GC contenders just wanted to get through with no problems. Which made it a bit dull to watch but maybe understandable on their part they didn't want to take any risks, its stage 1 stay safe get to the finish.

Stage two has six categorised climbs and over 2,500m of climbing, going uphill from the off, there are bonus seconds at Drugeac after the sprint, and a cat 3 climb uphill finish. I'd expect tomorrow to be more animated and breakaways to form

What the ***?

I hadn't paid any attention to that, but is the TdFF peloton so different from the 'normal' WWT peloton?

It's bigger than most WWT races there were 154 riders on the startline today, I think it was around 134ish for the Giro and those arr the biggest normally its around 120ish max, I've not done the maths on debuts yet, but certainly last year there were probably a good 10% of riders making their WWT debuts at the TdFF, and which played a significant part in the crashes that then happened imo.

Potentially why Audrey Cordon Ragot was sharing her views so strongly with the Liv Racing team during the stage today.
