Still, yet more proof that LOTTO Thüringen is the race we need to be watching for future stars.

Charlotte Kool faster than Kopecky in the field sprint, looking much better than the other day.

Now I am waiting for the forum to to cry about DSM, Jumbo Visma and UAE the same way as you did it with SD Worx not to win yesterday.

Even Marianne Vos makes the wrong tactical choice in this race. Nevertheless, well done to Emma Norsgaard.

Why? They rode, but the break was stronger. Kopecky was angry and her team didn't ride. Seems strange.

The tramlines are a joke to be honest, experienced solo riders crash on them without training, they should not be in the final 2km of a sprint stage ever

could not believe they put that there on a flat stage designed for a bunch sprint. sheesh, you knew full the largest group would crash trying to get through it as soon as it cropped up, not that some of those roundabouts were any better.

didnt they put out some matting or temporary surface before where they had to ride over tram tracks in one of the mens races ?

Great win for Emma. Sweet interview, also. ... Now, surely the 3km rule applies for the crash, yes?

had an impressive turn of speed after being in the breakaway for so long, maybe the crash disrupted the other teams, but they really werent making much of a dent in the gap she had

Apparently she's gonna down a whole bottle of champagne.
Hopefully she'll still be able to help tomorrow.

I haven’t watched enough women’s races to know the pattern here, but in the men’s peloton yes—once that team car reaches the back of the car caravan, the drafting rider(s) jump out from behind their team car and start leapfrogging the other team cars. Their own team car will momentarily be at the back of the line, and then makes its way back to its place in line when they get the chance. If it’s a narrow road that might take awhile.

well the pattern is, most womens races barely have enough camera bikes to cover the leaders, or roaming commissaires on bikes, so this stuff out the back rarely gets seen or witnessed...capiche ;)

Honestly there's like 20 teams that should've done everything they could to get in the break and then they let 3 riders get away

Exactly - You look at a team like Jayco Alula who picked an awful squad BUT not once have they infiltrated a breakaway - They are just jogging along at the back of the peleton.

I tried that once, it doesnt help riding a bike thats for sure :D but maybe it gives you enough pain to focus on that you forget the pain of riding up a big climb tomorrow.

FDJ definitely effed up once again by missing the break.

Ewers only lost 10 minutes. Hopefully she can continue tomorrow (unless she's thrown out for drafting behind the team car).

I seem to recall that having happened before.
Initially riders are registered as having lost time, but then the time-loss gets removed.
Yes, I've seen that, also. But if there was a gap in the peloton before the crash, they might split the groups up, in which case Vollering will pick up 23 seconds on AVV.

Edit: OK, I see they've corrected the times for the 3km rule.
