Commentators keep saying "Sir Drink a Bar", at least that's what I'm hearing.
Sir Drink a Bowl :joycat: mildly annoying, must admit. Almost threw me telly outta window jfc..

Just wondering..Is it that Eurosport completely skipping the finish line interviews of the stage winners and key players, unlike the way it's typically done in men's race? Too much of that studio giggles and whatnots imho.

Lately in the men's race they'd started doing the same, as the breakaway seems to be their believed purpose for being there and not covering the race properly

Vollering is ready to commit warcrimes in the Alps
Yeah, hearing the finish line interviews her teammate claimed her "radio didn't work".....like someone couldn't have let her know the Yellow jersey had turfed? Then the new jersey wearer demurred..."I just found out several minutes ago that I was...".
Most of what I saw was the wrap up but you'd wonder where any honor about chasing for someone to lose the jersey when they crashed 6km from the line? Pretty sh*tty scenario.

Blanka was in the attack and monitoring the front at the time. She looked absolutely petrified in the finish area after Demi arrived. Probably because she realised that a) she would have Vollering to answer to, as Demi was understandably pretty POed in the warm-down area; and b) as the stage winner, she was the one that was going to have to go and face the press about it too. Not sure I necessarily believe the radio story, but it makes for a convenient excuse.

Wiebes openly claiming that she didn't hear anything, but then admitting she "saw something yellow on the ground" before sprinting away for 8th is really poor form especially after the Dutch team had Vollering ride entirely for Wiebes in the Olympic Road Race.

Bredewold being asked to drop back, and then sitting on Vollering, that was just like, another layer of WTF.

But hey, van der Breggen is getting back on the bike because she's turned into the kind of DS that makes José Luís Arrieta look like the mastermind of Pajáres 2005. They need to make room, so since Demi has one foot out the door anyway, why not make her feel as unwelcome as possible while we're at it?

I don't think Bredewold was sitting on, because she or the team thought it was a good idea, but she was also running on empty at that point, while Vollering on the other hand was high on adrenaline. Mischa's been the only rider fully committed to helping Demi so far.

I thought I'd read Mischa say actually Demi was too strong for her to help much anyway. She did at least try which is all you can ask. But I don't buy the radios weren't working line and I'm not sure why Vas would have been that much ahead of Demi at that point in the race anyway, they were supposed to be helping Wiebes win the stage. Why is she in a position that far ahead a crash then completely disconnects here from everyone else and the GC rider who she should be protecting.

Wiebes has also said Demi was her last lead out, why ? This isnt 2012 on the Champs, and just raises more questions about where she thought she was then as she rode in.

Also rewatching the footage Demi gets back on her original bike, but there's an SD Worx team car next to her, a mechanic rushing to give her a new bike but no one from the team car even talks to her, winds down the window or helps her out or anything.

And then Danny claims they didn't even know Demi was in the crash till they were 3kms from the line.

Seriously? who was in that team car that stopped and didn't tell anyone their main GC rider who they provided no help too was standing by the side of the road losing bags of time.

It just stinks frankly.

And I noted their most recent insta post talks about getting the yellow back "all together".

Thanks for taking the time to sort through the available evidence. Without having done the work you have, I concur that the SDW story does the team no credit. Demi has taken the high road, because even the most charitable construction on Stam and the support team's activities give them no glory.

It can only be Anna VDB. And I don't believe she's that conniving that she would hide that from Danny - and stupid enough to believe she'd get away with it - when it was literally ON TV BROADCAST AROUND THE WORLD.

So yes, I believe Danny is lying.

I'm pretty sure SD Work-PROtime want to win the overall. It's just that other riders on the time want to do their own thing and the team is fine with it. SD Worx did strange things last year and finished 1-2 in GC. They do strange things in other races all the time and get away with it because they have the best riders.

The best way for The World to stick it to SD Worx is for a non-SD Worx rider win the overall this year and then Vollering win next year with her new team.

Ahahah disgusting interview from this Canyon rider. She is so happy for Kasia and very proud of how the team worked. Just disgusting, specially due to getting yellow after Demi crashed.
Ultimately SD Worx caused the crash of their own leader. I don’t have a problem with Canyon or any other team taking advantage.

SD Worx is really paying the cost of being a team with too many potential winners. Vas probably did the right thing to hang in but Wiebes as ever an utter disgrace.

Well Vollering..there was a time when leaving athlete was automatically out of big tours and big races. Proper Netflix stuff coming next winter I guess.. Maybe things like this are the reason why no straight after finishline interviews, because it's not necessarily handbags at the dawn, but straight away, If you ask too quickly.

Not a fan of domination, so I'm naturally inclined to root for anyone but vollering ([[content removed]]). However, at least in public DV has been handling the situation rather professionally, which I can appreciate.

The list of excuses uttered by teammates is hilarious, especially at this level: didn't see (although caused the crash and observed "something yellow"); radio didn't work, didn't know (team car stopped by; and somehow the radios never work when needed); and couldn't possibly help because she was strong (conventionally the idea is to bury yourself giving a couple good turns, not draft your leader, who is by definition stronger).

So there would definitely be grounds to say quite a bit, lol.

Given this I guess I wouldn't mind DV sticking it to the team and by extension to the competition this time around, if she has to.

Alternatively if Kasia has the form to beat vollering, all the better.
