Who is even in charge of the route? I think the route has been reasonably good for what its worth apart from this stage with some pretty hard and unpredictable stages when they got out of NL
I just hate that it's totally backloaded, but the race has suffered from that in all editions, like, everything before the final weekend doesn't matter. And with this one, because they're too scared of making Alpe d'Huez a damp squib, we have this stage. They could have just had something that was a completely different type of climbing from Glandon and ADH you know? Long, gradual climbs like Aravis could work, or a Croix-Fry descent and uphill into LGB like in the 2013 men's Tour, for example. I don't think people would moan about a finish like that, and it would be a legit mountain stage for the women's péloton but it would still leave the door open for tension and not give anything away for the Alpe d'Huez stage, you know?

Something like the last 50km of this after a flat to rolling first half would be great imo, but probably extends the stage length beyond what is reasonable. 7km @ 6,9% and 13,3km @ 6,3% won't completely destroy the bunch to the point that there is no question left to answer on climbs the size of Glandon and Alpe d'Huez.
