I thought this stage was too short for Martin but I was mistaken..... 52,5 Km/h looks like awesome speed.

Cancellara will do 60KMh. This tt will not suit climbers at all!

One of the first things that decline with age is maximum muscle strength, so naturally he has the biggest problems in short high power efforts.
Remember how bad Armstrong looked at the 8km up to Verbier compared to the 21km up the Mont Ventoux.

does the tour course this year work to his advantage or disadvantage in the mountains? i thought i heard or read somewhere lance say he is working on just pacing and that with the course he doesn't have to have the same acceleration (i think he said contador could do the burst but couldn't sustain so lance would be focused on high pace that he sustains). thanks!

Wigans has just left. This will give us an idea of whats happening

No it wont, its just started raining.

looks like he might be lucky, rain at the finish but only the one bend to get through. Later riders may not be nearly so lucky

Nope.. Never expect Brad to win the prologue and its now chucking it down with rain all over the course. Brad is on tv now saying he wont win the prologue because he's targetting gc. Geraint and Eddy were skys prologue hopes.

Weather has kicked that into touch.

current top ten

super disappointing performance by Wiggins, cant just be the weather, he barely beat Popovych who started just after him.
