any news on contador? etc

Contador is fine. Quick Step rider went down and that started it.
Canc was right behind and went over the bars.
Bertie can be seen standing just behind where it happened.

Not sure what happened to Farrar there, hope he's ok. Good for Ale-Jet though. I hate those finishes.

Maybe Frodo can't understand Holm's English? He was only told about that corner 3+ times.

Hushovd looked decent and has got a head start on Farrar, Cav and Freire in the battle for green. Let's hope none of the GC guys are hurt...

Can't we just rule out any mass sprints, and move on to the mountain stages straightaway? It seems they just can't do it anymore.

The AG2R rider's bike got hooked on his (Farrar's) and it was over from there.

And Cav is definitely not getting mentioned as a great bike handler.

Decent? Petacchi absolutely destroyed him.

cav should be eliminated from the race. he is an absolute ****! cervelo are always victims of cav!
Don't forget Freire. He hasn't been able to sprint for a while now, mostly thanks to our Manx friend.

Cav fecks it up again.

how many crashes does he need to cause to get some sort of sanction--even if its not intentional;is incompetence a sufficient excuse?

Cav rode into Jeremy Hunt and fell off causing that. pretty awful peice of riding and thats coming from somebody that respects Cavendish.

Hansen out of Tour - Collar bone.

Disastrous day for Columbia all round.
More bike malfunctions for Cav or just poor handling?
Annus horribilis for him, I think.

two observations:
1-) Cavendish is spooky, nervous, & lacking in concentration-so his diminishing abilities will make more exiting the battle for the green jersey
2-) another day less for the Shack to ambush AC-and tomorrow is even less likely to happen

looking at the big crash, Cancellara was squashed. I wont be surprised if he got a bad injury.
