Well they certainly shouldn't support TJVG. Evans was the logical leader of the team. Gilbert is not up to the mark at the moment. Evans looked very good in the Pyrenees on stage 9. I think they will look for stage wins now.

sure sure sure. I was being ironic as the outlook for american cycling fans is bleak...

Beware the Bretons on this stage, They will pass through st meen le grand the only town in France to have a museum dedicated to a cyclist (3 time winner Louison Bobet) and also the village where Bernard Hinault lives. Simon,Le Mervel and Gautier will be no doubt busting a gut to honour the black and white flag.

My predictions:
5 chateaux (1 with a moat)
2 cathedrals
4 horses spooked by helicopters
7 Cadle Evans drinking from streams
zero hilltowns

Now, that would be something.

Losing Bouhanni didn't help, but they have no excuse now, man in every breakaway. Unless they want a massive leadout for Bonnet or Fischer...

With Cav, Kittel and Greipel all blowing on the 4th cat stopping the chase from OPQS and Argos and Lotto. In your dreams mate :0

Learn to read. I said that such a stupid move would not be out of place with the level of tactical competence movistar have displayed so far in the race.

yep, if we completely discount these guys, we may as well remove 95% of the peloton and label them as club riders.

Jerome Cousin (FRA) EUC
Lieuwe Westra (NED) VCD
Luis Angel (ESP) COF
Julien Simon (FRA) SOJ
Juan José Oroz (ESP) EUS

Got 5:00

Bit strange that Westra is in the break? Thought he might be saving himself for tomorrow.

I guess they can get more money from being in a break + winning the intermediate points rather than at best maybe a Top 5 tomorrow.

He doesn't seem to going very fast uphill either unfortunately

Well his race is already over and also his morale probably. Best he can hope for is a stage win.

Sky on the front riding a moderate tempo (Bunch a bit strung). I mean :confused::eek: Why not let OPQS do the work for you ! If ever there was a stage Sky didn't need to have a dom in the wind this was it. No wonder they burn through their doms...

With a soft break on a flat stage this is how it normally works.

The leader's team keeps the break at 5 minutes or so for half the stage and then the sprinter teams takes over. Deal making at the breakfast table.

Next two road stages same thing probably.

It will only hurt Sky if the pace is high.

Pretty impressed with Peta's (Cavendish's girlfriend) knowledge of racing (and specifically the sprint teams).

I'm not surprised considering Cavendish passion about cycling. He's the kind of guy that probably goes home talk about how the sprints work out.
