Yes and Contador will have to drag some of the others to the finish. Andy isn't that bad in the ttt even though he isn't the best.

I agree with dlwssonic.

Hincapie, Bookwalter, Evans, Quinziato, Morabito and Schar are all quite decent time triallers. Burghardt generally isn't great but he is a strong roleur. Santaromita isn't the strongest ITT rider but he was apart of the team which finished 2nd in the Vuelta TTT of which he finished with the leaders. Moinard is the weak link. I think it is a very strong squad. Lelangue commonly drops the odd rider in the TTT.

they could very well top 5 if they do a real real good TTT

The fairest thing that could possibly happen is for the heavens to open up after the first 2 or 3 teams - conveniently the ones that got screwed by the organizers, come in.

Hopefully the gods will be cooperative.

Just as long as HTC don't win, nor do they get any of their riders in yellow, whoever wins if fine by me.

not a lot. they have burghardt, hincapie, bookwalter, schar, morabito, evans and quinziato. All of them can do good prologues. the weak links would be santamorita and moinard. I actually think their squad is strong.

When the time is taken from the fifth placed rider it is probably not too important. Most teams drop some riders off the back before the finish which can sometimes be an advantage as the weaker one's are not slowing the rest of the team.

Umm no.

Samu is one rider. Hes not even my favourite but the one i cheer for in the TDF GC.

Stop whining. It's really annoying.

Andrew fanboys had a 1000 post thread to go on and on and on and on about an injustice that wasnt even real.

Contador and Samu and Garmin fans are meanwhile expected to sitback and take ,without any outrage in the media, the ASO robbing these guys of their chances.

besides those are just my hopes for the ttt. Have different ones, feel free to post them.

Also this is a ttt, where riders get times based on how other totaly different people finish, hence I might whine some more.

I am tipping Radioshack to win (unfortunately) just ahead of Leopard Trek. Sky to round out the top 3.
If we look at performances this year I should also mention Rabbobank as they have been very impressive in time trials.

How many of you think that someone will crash? What odds would you offer up for not a single rider on any team crashing during the TTT?

yup they can slowly kill of the weak links in the TTT and they will end up with a very strong 5 or 6 riders at the end.

I meant you should be supporting euskatel in this stage because samu is in it.

You should put some money on today, for the former if you're confident:

5 horse race according to the bookies. Astana look reasonable value, so do BMC.

Team Garmin-Cervelo 17/10 HTC-Highroad 13/5
Team Radioshack 13/4 Team Leopard Trek 8/1
Team Sky 8/1 Rabobank 40/1
Saxo-Bank Sunguard 80/1 BMC Racing Team 100/1
Omega Pharma Lotto 150/1 Liquigas 150/1
Astana 150/1 Katusha 200/1
Movistar Team 350/1 Quick Step 600/1
Lampre 600/1 Vacansoleil 800/1
Ag2r 1000/1 Team Europcar 1000/1
Saur-Sojasun 1500/1 Euskaltel 1500/1
Francais des Jeux 1500/1 Cofidis 2000/1

Euskaltel and Saxo wouldnt get the time back on this stage even if they let them ride it together as 1 team.

I don't see the times being that close - the first 5 probably will but I'd be very surprised if 10th are within 17 seconds. I'd fancy 10th to be around a minute down.

OPL will do very, very well. They surprised the top teams in the Giro with a much weaker squad. I think they're able to podium today. Vandewalle, Greipel, Sieberg, Lang, Roelandts, Willems, VDB, Gilbert: that's a lot of horsepower. Vanendert will be their weakest link.

I won't be too upset if BMC didnt win the TTT as I don't want Cadel in yellow so early. Best result is to have someone that's not a GC contender have it but he put extra time over AS, AC etc.

Dont worry they wont. a top 5 would be a good result for them.

Then again, with a lot of these very same guys they didn't really shine in the Tirreno TT. And you'd assume they had decent form there.

What any of the teams did in the Giro doesn't matter: if you say that Lotto had a weaker squad there, well yes, but so did the other teams...
