That interview with Andy Schleck just made me a Schlecklet hater. What a freaking pussy that guy is...and interestingly, I agree with Phil on that one. The Tour is not just mountains and sprints. It is a TOUR OF FRANCE (and other countries for a few of stages each year). I find his attitude completely wussified. That and comments like Levi's yesterday about not knowing what to do because there were no TV's in the cars infuriate me. They act like they have a real job. I love cycling, but to to whine about getting paid fantastic money to ride your bike speaks of an attitude far removed from the reality in the world. Some people actually have tough jobs with much more difficult realities than any of the wimps who whine about these issues.

To be fair, they are riding this like a bunch of pave novices; pushing and shoving with 15kms to the next sector.

Ah........a ES ad break........of course.

Yea, all the drama for that first 350 meters of cobbles was pretty stupid.

I might have read Levi's quote differently.

I thought he was saying that if the teams had more information about where riders were, they might have been aggressive rather then waiting for people. If everyone knew Spartacus was trying to get them to hold up because the Schlecks were minutes behind the big group with the fallen contenders chasing the lead chase group... maybe teams wouldn't have been so accomodating of his "ride easy" idea.

There might be some truth to that... I don't know.

Next year's Tour should just be a prologue which only Cancellara is allowed to win, and then a mountain stage in which Andy Schleck is given a 5 minute head start and throughout which Levi Leipmoaner is allowed to sit in the team car and watch TV.

Spartacus decided that the course is too dangerous for cycling.

Yea, Saxo team leader Schlecklet believes that all roads for the Tour should be repaved with no breaks and 4 lanes wide for every stage. Its only fair as the Tour shouldn't include anything but smooth ribbons. I think that a lot of people will be pi$$ed about the major work they will have to do to 4 lane Huez, but rider safety is more important than anything else:rolleyes:

He basically said that they didn't know where people were and what was going on, and having tvs in the car would have helped. That's a paraphrase, but it wasn't about being more aggressive.

Yeah, I was not impressed with him at all either. You can't expect to be a champion if you whine about a course that is not designed exactly to your strong suits. He complains about the course design while mentioning that oil was on the road. Does he expect them to predict a fluke event? He complains that this is not P-R, I wonder how much he'd complain on behalf of his domestiques if this stage was replaced with another mountain stage?
