He basically said that they didn't know where people were and what was going on, and having tvs in the car would have helped. That's a paraphrase, but it wasn't about being more aggressive.

Perhaps what I read were the authors comments after the Leipheimer quote.

I guess if you know where people are (both yours and others), could it affect agreements on a neutralization? If the lead group knew that most contenders were only 45 seconds to a minute back... but the Schlecks were 3 minutes back... perhaps they wouldn't have agreed so easily to the idea of holding up. It's likely the main chase would have caught up anyway.

I might have read Levi's quote differently.

I thought he was saying that if the teams had more information about where riders were, they might have been aggressive rather then waiting for people. If everyone knew Spartacus was trying to get them to hold up because the Schlecks were minutes behind the big group with the fallen contenders chasing the lead chase group... maybe teams wouldn't have been so accomodating of his "ride easy" idea.

There might be some truth to that... I don't know.

Yea, thats what I said. He whined about not knowing what to do because there were no TV's in the cars. I mean, how a race was ever run before Motorola introduced 2-ways, and TV's were introduced is beyond me? How can they be expected to race with accommodations fit only for peasants?

Next year's Tour should just be a prologue which only Cancellara is allowed to win, and then a mountain stage in which Andy Schleck is given a 5 minute head start and throughout which Levi Leipmoaner is allowed to sit in the team car and watch TV.

Hilarious! :D

I didn't read any more into his comments than what he said. He wasn't talking about the neutralization. He was talking about the aftermath of the crash.

conta riding well

I think he is going to be fine. Funny, one of the riders jumping the sidewalk was Armstrong. I think it would be funny if HE is the one who loses time.
