Didnt't seem much wrong in the sprint, Cav not happy but I dont know why this time.

Cause he didn't win? I like Cav but I've never seen him happy when he didn't win ;)

ir was Bjarne Riis that gave the bike the shove to get AC back on the way
- according to the Rai.

It was Riis yes. His bike was trashed and he threw it in the ditch, and the cars was slow to get to him due to the brajkowicz/gesink crash.

Replay shows other riders crossing almost the entire road and closing Cav out completely. Clearly a reason to be unhappy about it.

Why are these GC contenders riding so far back in the peleton? Brajkovic, Contador, Leipheimer, Gesink, Horner... Do they WANT to crash?

The Brajkovic/Gesink crash seemed to be in about 40th place or so, certainly not in the back.

It was immediately after the intermediate sprint ... I guess their usual positioning would have been affected by the push of the sprinters and sprint trains.

The majority of them where not exactly back in the peleton, I didn't see the Contador crash but Gesink and Brajkovic where placed just fine, crashes can happen anywhere, it's only getting stuck behind crashes that happens more if you're in the back.

I didn't see where Contador, Leipheimer, and Horner fell, but Jani and Gesink were near the front on the left side of the road. Others have noted that AC was near the front, too.

Kudos to BMC, Astana and Garmin for keeping their guys at the front consistently. Radioshack is normally always at the front, that was one thing that Bruyneels teams have always done correctly, no matter what you think of him. Every stage you saw his riders in the front 20 from the 50-km to the 10km of all flat stages.

Haha Are you serious? Cave was coming fast and ran off the road!

I dont think it was deliberate, he tried to go round somebody and switched a bit but thats what happens in sprints.
