Gadret has been lurking very well under the radar so far. Seems to be in good form since he hasn't lost any time so far. When he's out of form he tends to lose time in the easy stages. Hopefully he'll go well today.

Probably is a designated helper for Peraud but that shouldn't stop him.

He'll have a free role whether his nominal team likes it or not

Anyway his and Peraud's palmares are of a similar quality.

With the gap out to 9:00 there's not much they can do about it.

When Riblon won this stage in 2010 the breakaway was less than 4 mins in front at the base of the Port de Pailhères and Riblon 2:34 over the top.

He has a great chance to win again.

Riblon is available at 14/1 at Befair at this moment.
I agree with the Barb and have taken a small bet...
Maybe not the right forum but felt it was appropriate as a reply:)

The climbs will be hell. I am a few km from the pyrenees on the coast and the temperature hits 28 degrees in the shadows, so it will be close to 40 in the climbs as there is no shadow there....

It will never be as easy for Sky as last year, because last year 60% of GC contenders crashed in the Metz stage and were out/injured because of that. Plus there was no Contador or Rodriguez to contend with either, which makes it easier uphill imho

It's compensated with a factor of Froome (not Wiggins), who doesn't need an eternal mountain convoy, no?

well... on the other hand they're missing Wiggins and Rogers this year. We will see. It seems to me Saxo has a better squad.

I do not believe a lot will happen today between the stars. Some 2nd tier dark horses might be shed or push to glory, but the others will sit tight, too long until the alps and sky has 2 injured so control in flat stages will be tougher on them and on the others too. Trw is not controllable.... So why bother today?

All good candidates. As I said earlier, I expect Riblon to be there, as will a Saujason rider (hopefully Feillu as he'd as least have achance of making it stick).
I would say riblon too but he is only 4 mins down.
edit: oh I see it's been formed and he's in. Silly me.

A long road in front of the breakaway.
I hope the Frenchmen trio knows the roads.
A jump on the climb will be needed for the stage.

Would be interesting if Purito and Quintana are well in form to shatter the Sky train!! Just hope so ...

I'm sure Peraud's palmares in the 'How to be a ***' championships are nowhere near Gadret's achievements.
