Is Contador in the Froome group, even if Froome looses time today then its not the end of the world Valverde can gain 2 mins and Froome will take it back in the ITT.

Sky train losing time. 1:40 down now. Seems certain now that Froome will be alone for the rest of the day.

Hmm, I shouldn't trust letour.fr. Only about 1:10 now, but Sky exhausting their own train.

i think the problem is Contador and Valverde's egos. Neither is willing to risk their own placement for the teams success. The ds's should just say - if one of your teammates wins, its still good, and send rui costa and Kreuziger up the road.

You can then attack to them anyway.
That's true but also Saxo might not be willing to sacrifice some valuable WT points that Kreuziguer can probably score with a top10 placing

Froome will let them ride and wait for his teammates, even if they've 4 minutes at the end of the stage Froome will take that back easily later on in the tour.

Bakelants should transfer some of his cojones to the main GC contenders. The man never gives up.

What's the point of isolating Froome if they just give him a new train?

Hope for some froomedubnesss.... Froome can try to attack early and got out of fuel... They can not let froome get food or water in the car.... Starvation!!!!

Porte is completely done so Sky won't be coming back. Movistar need to attack now or they're just riding for second place, and even then Contador will just break Valverde later on and take that away as well.

Movitrain and Saxo train = just as boring as sky train.

I wish i could fall asleep and wake up in an hour to see what has happened.

No need to attack, work hard on this climb and make sure sky don't get back. Then start the attacks on the next climb. Froome either responds or watch a group ride away for 10 minutes. He'll mark Valverde and only Valverde I'd say. I think Contador would let Kreuziger go, I don't think Valverde would any lieutenant go and would get the team to chase back any group. MOvistar has been good but Valverde's ego will be Froome's greatest ally.

Promise?

Come on , this has the makings of the best stage in decades! AS vandevelde said, they're going to be making commemorative t-shirts of this stage!

Contador stealing the Vuelta from Purito last year will take some beating but lets wait and see. Plenty of stage have had potential only to end up being pretty dull.

The break needs to drop De Gendt and Hesjedal to have a proper go. Hesjedal is toast and is skipping turns, De Gendt wasted too.

Popovych had the promise to be the best rider in decades.

Promise, until it turns into something real, is just promise.
