So Valverde has a teammate give 4 attacks which Froome was the one to chase, but doesn't counter once at the catch?

Counter-attacking would just mean increasing the gap to Porte. Froome wants his group to go as slowly as possible, but now the gap is just way too big.

But Porte won't be so motivated having been humiliated like this.
He could begin to sulk. :(;)

Porte was always riding for Froome remember that, he'll be a leader next year for the Giro. I'm not sure this stage says much about him today.

Movistar and Saxo with what can only be described as a fail of epic proportion.

Pretty sure it was Valverde that dragged the alien to the front group...

Saxo are protecting their leader and building for week three, while throwing jabs at sky in the process. Nothing wrong with that.

Porte doing a good job of making himself look like he cracked. Pretty obvious he could bridge the 10mins if he wanted.

Would laugh if Valverde lost his GC place to Martin after all this.

Hesjedal is riding with him right now. I'm sure Porte feels pathetic, having ridden on his own all day, catching a supposed gc contender.

Lets face it with Porte's GC chances gone Froome now has the best domestique in the field.

Nairo should have started attacking on the 2nd or 3rd last climb. Then Valverde and Contador from the foot of the final climb.

Man, that was disappointing. Let's not see Valverde win the sprint at least.

Saxo bringing back Costa now. Sigh.

He's good friends with froome. Froome even helped Porte climb into second at the dauphine.

I'm laughing at Porte. Thought he could control the entire peloton on his own. The Spanish did a number on him.

Should shut him up for a while.

Christ, the polish riders seem to be great timing their attacks: Majka in the Giro, now Kwiatkowski
