Poor season for Jayco continues. Lead out rider Stewart brought down by Liepins. Luckily, Groenewegen avoided the crash but that was the end of his sprint.

Most embarrassing sprint ever by Liepins, first ensuring half the sprinters went down and then having literally the lowest speed of the remaining half. Just like last year, DSM have a singular competent sprinter and for some reason they put him on domestique duty more often than not. At least this one might be removed as an option for a while if the UCI do their job for once...

Welsford was notable by his absence in Turkey (van Popppel even took over the sprinter's role) so a good confidence boost for him.

I am interested in how Groenewegen performs today. He could not hold the wheel of his lead-out Stewart and was indirectly responsible for the crash.

No surprise if you saw stage one where Groenewegen could not hold the wheel of his leadout.

I reckon it was Welsford's fault for trying to push into a gap that was not there.

Good effort from Buchmann but in the end the climbs not long and steady enough if Nys and Ulissi are still there.

Nys is really a rider that could win a lot of big races in the future. maybe even L-B-L could be possible.
