I hope so. What he did this season with limited team support while riding for a small Mexican club (based in San Marino) is clearly enough to lure in even top teams.So will Del Toro turn pro now?
Riccitello and Pellizzari on the other hand showed that their results in that race were not a fluke.Anyone know what happened to Kulset?
Doesnt feel like he lived up to his Tour of The Alps level here.
Btw, I was the first one to mention Del Toro on this forum after his results in Sibiu, clearly a WT team needs to throw big money at me to sign me as a talent scout![]()
Glad that Del Toro won the overall over Riccitello. Firstly because he comes from a smaller nation, cyclingwise and secondly because Riccitello is already riding on a World Tour team and rode the Giro this year.
Unless there is something that we don't know, there is a huge certainty that he will turn pro now. Lavenir is one of the best indicators of a good prospect in WT. At least there is a good assurance of a good rider.So will Del Toro turn pro now?
Del Toro has an equally weak team, though, so hard to call Riccitello a victim. He would have salvaged a podium spot if he'd had decent support and that's about it.I followed today's race: Riccitello was I think first of all victim of a very weak American team; I haven't seen any American work for him. Yesterday he was lucky other teams did chasing, making pace; else he would already have lost the jersey yesterday. Just one guy of the level of the Italians, Belgians any of the Scandinavian countries could have made a difference for him.
But it was a nice race;
Funny part; I watched 1h30; looking for Belgian riders. Junior I saw - didn't see any other. But 15 minutes after the finish I saw Craps in top 10; I didn't see any footage of him during the race; really an invisible rider... ;-).
Not really. Del Toro had a team mate finishing in top 10 of the Loze stage. And the second best American rider was like 45 minutes behind the second best Mexican rider in GC, so I think it’s fair to say Del Toro had at least one much stronger team mate than Ricitello had.Del Toro has an equally weak team, though, so hard to call Riccitello a victim.
Did any other teammate of Del Toro even finish the race? In Valle d'Aosta he raced the final 3 stages (all mountain stages) without any teammates because they had all DNF/OTL and finished 4th on all of those stages.Not really.
