Unlike last year, the time of the race means that the field is quite weak (and so shortly after the OGRR it's weaker than most years), but that in turn should give space for the talents here to shine.

The third, decisive stage is on the same route from the top Côte de Giron to the finish as the second stage last year, won by Roglič in a sprint from a select group. Col de Menthières is the last ~9 km of the profile below:

Very nice race if it was before the Tour. Maybe it will be exciting since there will be no dominating riders.

Florian Stork will make his comeback after crashing very hard on the final stage of the UAE Tour where he had - very surprisingly - been bossing it in the mountains (7th on Jebel Hafeet).

Of course.

I think DQS will ride for Shane Arshbold, and Masnada will once gain not be fully unleashed to the world.

Bouhanni could get his first win of the season on stage one. It's also about time for Coquard wraps up another top 10.

A lot of interesting young riders participating:
Champoussin, Van Wilder Garofoli, Simmons, Skjelmose, Kron, Lipowitz. Champoussin, Van Wilder and Skjelmose could all feature in the top if the gc with the former two possibly contesting the win.

DSM team looks interesting and a chance to see how Simmons goes on longer climbs with a field he can realistically compete well with.

Masnada was on the PCS start list until a day to two ago but has disappeared.

DQT haven't bothered to announce the team yet though they have already named the riders for San Sebastian.
