Gene in 4th. That means Europcar definetely see him as the main sprinter here over Pelucchi. The peloton left it till very late to catch the breakaway but Guardini is head and shoulders above everyone here and his sprint wins are very much one sided.

Haven't seen the stage, but Danielson thanks the team for going "so so deep" today, so maybe Zabriskie did work on the front? Realistically he has to know that keeping up with Rujano and those guys on a serious climb might be a bit too much.

This is what I found.

Dave don't know much about banana's. Those covers are to stop fruit bats, not to dress them in pesticides. Not that there might not be other pesticides used across MAS.


The climb is 20km - avg 5.5%, but that includes a drop, so lots of 10%+...and not to be underestimated is the tropical heat and humidity. There's a reason Columbians win here regularly.

the reason colombians win there regularly is because it's a climb that is serious and steep. not humidity.

yesterday also victor nino was in the attack he took back some time. he is the brother of libardo, who finished 2nd here last year and miguel nino. and teammate freddy gonzalez 2x winner of the king of the mountains in the giro. they'll be the only opponents rujano will have tomorrow probably other than rujano's own teammates but rujano is their leader. danielson I doubt he'll be much of a force.

That's what I was meaning, just bad punctuation, but the steepness is hidden by the 5.5% average over the climb.
