The mountaintop finish seems pretty hard and can well be decisive for the overall standing
So guys like Quintana and Dombrowsky should be able to ride a nice GC I guess?

I wonder how some of these youngsters (Lavieu, Dombrowsky and Cattaneo for instance) handle the combination Valle d'Aosta + Avenir. Could it be to much?

cattaneo especially lookes exausted after valle d' aosta and he also run giro delle valli cunneesi, which is very hard stage race for under in italy.

aniway italian team is practically trevigiani, which pays all the money and cattaneo is best trevigiani rider

I think Stages 3-5 will decide who shall win. It needs another ITT and maybe another few cat 1 climbs.

I'd have had Lang in the squad, not sure who is leader but I guess they are aiming for stage wins. McCarthy or Dennis probably.

I'm sure that Dennis and Hepburn could do well in the prologue. Have got a few decent riders who can sprint as well.

Any idea who will be their man in the sprints?
I thought Dennis and Hepburn were pretty good sprinters as well.
So after a good prologue they might be the card to play?

None of them are probably good enough to win a full bunch sprint, Rowe will be hard to beat there.

Totally agree.
The Germans have some pretty fast man (Arndt and Selig) and there's Boivin for Canada, but Rowe will be the man to beat

That's no good :( Did he do it in training or something?
No, he crashed (twice) in his last race, Poitou-Charentes. In fact, he rode the time trial there with the injury, and still did quite well. He still hopes to compete in the U23 Worlds TT.

I guess now Aad Vierhouten hopes that Ramon Sinkeldam will get a good GC...

Dumoulin replaces Kelderman... why not Daan Olivier, who can actually climb.

Oh wait, I know the answer... Vierhouten is Dumoulin's manager.

Why is Dumoulin just a replacement then? Maybe your answer is wrong?

Dumoulin was originally selected AFAIK, but due to a conflict of interest Vierhouten decided to take someone else. Now Kelderman is out and boom, in comes Dumoulin. Must have been a hard choice

Daan Olivier would have been a much better choice, if they want a GC rider on board.

real shame for wilco.

It's not so bad that he already has a contract with a WT and such, and he has a whole career in front of him, but still dissapointing.

Daan Olivier is still pretty young (18 yeh?) so that isn't the end of the world either. But yeh would have been nice to see him get a go.

Thought Ben Dyball was going to ride. Not to be. Interesting to see how Pat Lane goes then as he's the best climber in that squad.

I would have Durbridge in the squad for him to **** in the prologue.

Very dissapointing that Francesco Bongiorno will not get to ride as last year he stated this as his big goal for this season, but I guess with the horrible ride he did in Aosta the form was just not there.

Anyways I look forward to seeing what belgian Jimmy Janssens can do. He used to be a great junior, but has then been almost invisible for years but now suddenly he looks to be back making some results. I think he might be a surprice although I doubt he can battle with riders like for instance Quintana, Dombrowski, Cattaneo or perhaps Jordi Simon.

Palmer is the fastest but depends on the stage and if he is the protected sprinter, interesting to see how things unfold.

Australia will have a good lead out for anyone sprinter. Dennis can pull then the other ok sprinters lead out Palmer.
