Watched again from the overhead shot. Definite Cav TdF 2012 Stage 18 vibes, the way it looked like he was on a motorbike and the others were on a fat bike. There isn't another rider in the world who could have done that today - got over the climb in good position, keep position on the descent, surf wheels without any team support, produce that insane acceleration, hit out from 300m to win that easily. Maybe Wout at his very best. At only just 20, that was pretty phenomenal stuff. What a talent.

I think losing like four bike lengths to Ben Turner automatically disqualifies you from that discussion.
Did we watch the same sprint? Brennan started about 4 bike lengths behind Turner --- hard to say exactly because he wasn't even in the helicopter shot when he started sprinting. He proceeded to win by at least 2 bikes. You're ten bikes off.

Colby or Quinn Simmons?

If you had to choose, which one would you want to show up on at your front door on Saturday night to take your daughter out?

Race is in bits, can't see it all coming back either because all teams seem to be represented in one of the two groups.

Am sure this has been discussed before, but GB commentators insist pronouncing his name Ricky Tello. As it's Italian in origin, shouldn't it be Richie Tello?

I think he pronounces it Rickytello, like Daniel Ricciardo or Christian Pulisic who also adopted the slightly bastardised pronunciation of the emigrant country over that of the home country

No it's just diaspora/immigrant things. You often accept the pronunciation of the new country to fit in, Jewish immigrants within Europe used to do it all the time.
Cheers. Not having a dig at Americans btw. Jose Mourinhio had to put up with being called Josie by everyone in Britain for his year or two at Manchester Utd.
