I vaguely recall Wiggins doing it I think but I can't remember which race. But it is rare. It's a risk because sometimes it's the better riders that get the wind advantage and weather forecasts are pretty vatriable.
In the prologue you can choose to start early. If the GC is set you can't.

for evans, form doesn't matter that much
In a TT, it certainly does. Actually for Evans more than for others.

Getting back on topic, what is the weather forecast? Think that Sky will be OK either way given that Porte will be starting over an hour back but is less than 40seconds down on GC

It is windy as **** here. Coming from the east. It might calm down by the time they start though. Forecast says rain in the afternoon, right now it's pretty cloudy but it's a nice 19 degrees.

Costa and Machado hyped to hell on this forum, but what kind of forum would it be without Kelderman, Mollema, Costa, Coldeportes, Machado, Rujano, Other/Vino threads :D

We are few but loud:)

Wiggins winning would be in line with the rest of the race for me. Stage 1 apart not many memorable moments of racing here.

Anyone got info about the cat. 1 climb today? Looking at the profile it seems to be about 4.5k at 10%. If that's correct, pretty tough climb then.

Believe Klodi might do a good ITT today. Wiggins ftw.

plus all my hype topics are with such an obvious wink that nobody can possibly take it serious (but some apparently do...)

actually you are very serious but try to make it look like you aren;t. you are soemtimes in total panick mode when something bad happens to a dutch rider. especially thomas

richie porte to win it

overall standings

1.wiggins
2.porte
3.rogers
4.spilak

dufaux and zulle will immediatelly announce their comeback in the pro peloton.

also spilak i think might surprise big time today.he's a beast

hoping for an itt showdown like on col d'eze

yes it's clear i'm totally serious when i name Kelderman the new Merckx

for crying out loud *triple facepalm*. Obviously I do expect great things from them... but nothing like the topic titles or obvious jokes.

There is also a descent right?

If the descent is technical and if it's raining (that was the forecast right?), I can see Mollema doing really wel here.

I was going to bring that one up too.

When you do it for every Dutch rider (which you do) it leads people to hope that they fail (which they tend to do as well :p)

@andykloedi
saw the TT-cours in the morning. Did a lap with my team mate... one of the hardest TT Cours ever .... You ll need, power ,power & power

I hardly create topics for every dutch rider... ever seen topics about dennis van winden, coen vermeltfoort, tom jelte slagter, daan olivier, jetse bol, marc goos, etc etc from me?
Dekker comeback thread.. Kelderman=Merckx thread. There is Mollema but I didn't even create his topic... So you're overreacting. Thing is people themselves make it worse by overhyping me.

Moving away from petty discussion...

It was nice to see Landa up and about in these past few days, hoping he can come through as the successor to Samu =) But then let's see what Nieve can do in the Giro

Could be an entertaining TT

Clement should go well. He looked the strongest Rabo rider to me yesterday

I also think Brajkovic will go well. He's coming into form, the team is on a high and it was wet and windy when he blitzed that Dauphine TT a couple of years ago
