I think today’s stage is fine so far. There’s still plenty of road.

The problem is that it’s the only selective road stage other than the uphill sprint and that it is placed the day before the decisive MTT.

In 2018 they did it right and we had a good race as the result.

Matt Stephens telling us about Sepp Kuss pushing a 'relentless pace' as the cameras show Jumbo easing up and looking around. After all, the 20-man group ride on a mountain stage has been their main tactic for the last couple of seasons.

Nico Roche pointing out that the pace is off because he's busy telling us what's actually happening rather than, like most of the GCN team, what he'd like to be happening.

Nico is actually a good commentator.

Jumbo strangeling the race is one thing but you can't tell me that the pace is so savage that only Einar Rubio was capable of attacking. So many GC guys like O'Connor talking about how today is the main stage and not tomorrow yet no one even tried.
