Evenepoel's season started 2 weeks ago, while other guys have been slowly building towards the Tour since February. We also have not seen him climb this season, while in the one race he should have stepped up, he blew up. Historically, he has been pretty much subpar at climbing in between goals or when he can not be bothered to pay attention to his weight. Bottomline, we don't know and it's hard to predict. If Remco shows up with last years TDF or Vuelta '22 legs, he will drop everybody hard. If he shows up with his Tirreno '22 legs (and weight), everybody will drop him hard. The reason he might do better than expected though, is that he already has been at altitude and (imho) he looks lighter than he usually does for these races.
But considering how passive he was yesterday I am not confident

With the legs of the TDF 2024 yes, but wiht the legs of the 2022 Vuelta, I wouldn't say for sure that he'd leave everyone behind today. In the queen stage of the 2022 Vuelta, he was beaten by Roglic, Enric Mas and other riders.
That Vuelta had few high-mountain stages, and in the hardest he wasn´t the strongest.

Let's look a bit at the details of the monster Thyon climb. It's one of the hardest MTFs used in cycling. It's almost 21 km at 7.6 % (climbing around 1600 m) so total numbers almost identical to Mt Ventoux. It's easier initially but in the second half of the climb there's an 8-km section with an avg. gradient of 9.1% (the Giant of Provence actually also has a similar section but in the middle). This hard section coupled with long climb and significant elevation should create gaps. Let's see who's the strongest today:

He couldn't get off his bike because he fell on his hip two days earlier. He couldn't even walk himself and had to be carried off his bike. Those stages aren't representative.

Still just Oliveira on the front, so Großschartner and Torres will only have to pull on the last climb.

LVE must be feeling good

They always do this, so I wouldn't make that conclusion. He likes taking wind early on a long climb for some reason. Also it's not like they are going fast at all. It's probably more about being in front not having to stop pedalling because somone bumps into you etc
