Is it really that hard to say that Remco did his best today? He dropped so early that I expected 3 mins loss but he still managed his effort like he always does. Suggesting he could have been with Vine is delusional.
He is going to win the Tour. Believe in the process.

My point is he signed one of the longest contracts in cycling. He is extremely overrated. I have not seen anything from him to suggest he deserves that contract.
He's 19, and UAE has no financial problems. A long-term contract for someone that who seems promising seems norma.
He has plenty of room for growth due to his age, and if he fails, UAE has no financial problems.

The rest is just letting intoxicated by social media comments.
Torres isn't to blame for what's said about him on the forums. His performance today wasn't his best, but he's almost a teenager and it's his first year. He shouldn't be judged.

For me, he's still talented. Let's give him time.

From a team prospective yes, since Fortunato is really bad against the clock, and bringing him back has no consequence for GC, however, from a personal perspective, Almeida probably thought that distancing Vine increased his chance of winning GC significantly.
For sure, and if Martinez wasn't so dogged and determined to hang on Almeida might well have taken it with one of his surges (can't really call them "attacks")

let's see. he lost 45 seconds immediately nursing Lecerf. Then he loses only 45 more seconds the rest of the climb while towing Lecerf

yeah, he could have easily been a minute faster
Surely you don't believe he would let a potential GC in a WT stage race slide for Lecerf staying in the top 10, if he thought he would have the legs? He's never even done such a thing for Van Wilder who has been much more important to him and who's potential far overshadows that of Lecerf.

By riding his own steady pace with Lecerf in his wheel, he was also able to stay within his limits and ride the numbers. If he were to try and follow, he would have likely needed to go into the red and get suckered into stop & go climbing which isn't his thing. Could he have gone slightly faster? Probably, but probably not enough for it to have mattered. Perhaps he was also trying to keep his legs fresh for tomorrow.

I think UAE having money is a thing, poorer teams would probably not be willing to take such a risk because they simply wouldn't be able to afford it.

Remco is a winner. No one believes that if he could win Romandy, he would decide not to try.

If he had been as strong as Carlos Rodriguez and Vine he would´ve arrive with them.

I fail to see that, specially when he showed zero evidence he could be with Rodriguez today.
you're only looking superficially...Remco is working his way up in form. He's already on par with some excellent climbers.

Remco in Switzerland was beaten by Ayuso and Skjelmose in ITT.
He's the favorite, but after a hard mountain stage, I wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow´s ITT isn't his best.

I'd be quite surprised if it were. Or rather I should I'm quite sure it won't be his best. I'd be mildly surprised if he wins tomorrow, but at his best he trounces this field.
