That was a lumpy stage, surprised so many got over the climbs - particularly Chaumont. Also would have been a tough chase for any dropped to get back on before the finish.

Another lumpy stage tomorrow but the finish is closer to the last climb. The GC favorites all look poised to pounce come stage 5. But stage 4 is an uphill finish which might cause a surprise.

I guess it's safe to say that Baudin likes cheese

Is it just me or is this about the worst season in recent years when it comes to routes for one week races? Romandie has never been good, bus this year it is even worse. TA had its worst route in many years. Same for Criterium Dauphine. And Tour de Suisse has been mediocre for many years and arent any better this year......

Catalunya had a good one, that got canceled cause of a little wind.

Itzulia had a great route though.

What's wrong with the Romandie route? Yesterday, you had a stage that called for action from 50 kilometres out. Hard to ask for much more, to be honest.

The only dud route-wise was Tirreno.

Yeah, Itzulia always delivers.

TdS have some good medium mountain stages, but are more or less ripped of high mountain stages. What happened to these stages around Andermatt? Or some of the high climbs in Graubünden.

And CD probably has tried to make the route somewhat easier this year for preparing to the Tour. But its is neither good in terms of high mountain stages nor medium mountain stages. A few years of ago they had a briliant medium mountain stage to Megeve. A couple of these would be a good exchange for not having many (or any) high mountain stages with HC climbs.

First of all there is two ITTs in 6 stages. The 3 km prologue is just boring. Second; I want the difficult parts to be a bit more than a massive MTF to Thyon. The decsive mountain stage should be a bit easier and then rather add a tough medium mountain stage where it was possible to gain more than than it was yesterday.

This is one of the better Romandie routes. Arguably the best since 2018.

"This year it is even worse" -> list reasons that apply every year or most years.

It wouldn't be Romandie otherwise.
