we shouldn't take any conclusion consider Contador's season on 1 stage. Ok I expected more but he deserves way more credit.

Besides it's ****ing january

maybe Contador is sh*tting his pants because of a certain court case coming up on Monday ;)

On a serious note, it's not a big deal at all really.

last year he had no form either and he still did well.
Hey... Don't worry.. Today was beautiful to watch and although we tend to expect more from Alberto.. he did not really disappoint by arriving within a respectable time.. Compare that to Nibali or others who did much much worse. The way the race is unfolding showcases the locals who have the satisfaction of beating Contador in a manner that is spectacular but also shows some respect on Contador's part.. Unlike we have seen by other famous names who don't even bother to work hard early in the season

Contador, Nibali, Purito, Valverde (not even racing) etc.

It's not that odd considering the Firenze worlds this year...

Credit goes to the winner but Alberto is not to be shamed, IMO, he is just getting warmed up for the rest of the tour.

Am I the only one who thinks the gaps are pretty huge for climb that on the profile looks like it's just 6km at 6,7%. There have been 30man sprints on longer and harder climbs than this one

this is south america. here they attack from the bottom. besides the first big climb was already done so fast only 40-50 guys were left after that

good result by andre cardoso, he said he wanted much much more this year and even declined an offer from a WT team to keep the chance of riding for himself. i hope he has a good season
