What is up with those steam locomotives on the profile? There's a railroad crossing 2.5 km from the finish line?

These are the points, where Andrea "locomotiva" Tafi will attack. ;)

You are right, these are railroad crossings and they seem to be unguarded.

Go Haedo and Colbrelli!

Hopefully they will do well. I have a feeling that Viviani is too fast though.

The sprinters in the field:

Haedo brothers
Förster
Keough
Viviani
Casper
Ferrari
Ventoso
Boonen
Chicchi
Max Richeze
Janorschke
Furlan
Colbrelli
delle Stelle

A shame that a lot of the Argentinian fastmen aren't able to ride this. Over the last years "Frösi" usually had a good start into the season so I'd love to see him taking at least one of the flat stages. This here may be one for Chicchi or Richeze, I would say. Richeze is the only one with some race km in his legs (Chile), that may suit him.

:D I like this one too:

And just look at this video. N'awww!!! Berto + baby is possibly one of the cutest things I've ever seen. Equals the cuteness of baby chipmunks and baby pandas put together.

If you are local, post early and often. Love to have some local insight. Seems to be a fairly impressive start list and a good looking parcourse.

Sprint #1 looks like where I live - Tree lined streets covered in snow that is.

Sofía is from Mar del Plata, so not the most local part of Argentina for this race ;) more local than the rest of us, mind.

Ideal top 3 stage 1:

Guardini
Boonen
Pozzato (leadout) ;)

Guardini will probably be outside the time limit considering the climb early on! Though I would love to see him win :)

Optimal top 3:

1. Colbrelli
2. Haedo
3. Guardini

:)

My bet is Haedo first Viviani 2nd and a latinamerican as 3rd.

It's nice to have some type of stage race at this point and the starlist is superb.
I hope local riders give a good show.

Will be nice with the echelons there. Europeans will have a hard time, they really suffered there in the last years.
