Anyone have a profile of the final climb tomorrow?
I think this is it
Tiefenbachferner.gif

Yes, that's it. Last 450 meters is downhill. Before that there is the Rosi-Mittermaier-Tunnel which is 1750 meters long. Hopefully there will be coverage in the tunnel. At the end of the tunnel they will be at 2.830 meters.

2.830 meters seems to be a new altitude record for european pro cycling?
It's at least the highest road in the alps so probably yes (has there maybe been a higher finish in the sierra nevada?)

Hopefully not! That's the charm about a tunnel. I'd like to see a real nail-biter. Who comes out first?

As I think has already been mentioned, you can stop watching for 5 minutes with 3km to go in every mountain stage and then turn back on your stream and you would have created your own tunnel.
If they have TV footage, just do this - it's no different in actuality to any mountain stage.
Having said that, I understand your excitement.
I would still like there to be coverage, though.

What have Pozzovivo even won.. Trentino, a stage in the Giro and? I know he is a climber, but I think he should have won a bit more considering his talent, so I hope he will win this race (Im not really a fan of Kruijswijk, Spilak and Caruso either).

Nope, cime de la bonette is lower

Cime de la Bonette is 2802m (Tour de France has crossed it, but not had a stage finish there)
Col de la Bonette is 2715m (you cross the Col to get to the Cime which is on a loop road from the Col.

Easy win for Sagan. LOL. Just kidding.

Break: Peter Sagan with Marcus Burghard

Restrepo, Planckaert (obaja Kaťuša-Alpecin), Meijers (Roompot), Nordhaug, Pearson (obaja Aqua Blue Sport), De La Cruz, Trentin (obaja Quick-Step Floors), Morton (Dimension Data), Matthews (Sunweb), Oliveira (Movistar), Calmejane, Chavanel (obaja Direct Energie), Hayman (Orica-Scott), Wellens (Lotto-Soudal), Dibben (Sky) a Grmay (Bahrajn).

3:40 60 km to go

Stage 7: Zernez - Sölden (166.3k)

So this atge climbs the same Rettenbachferner, except that this time instead of going in to the finish line that we saw last year they continue for 3 additional kilometers at 6.0%. So this climb Is actually 15 kilometers.

When I put the data in my computer from the profile I get only 13.3 kilometers of climb @ 10.74%. So I don't get the 15 kilometers that they are talking about in the link below. If it is really 15 kilometers like they say here the average gradient should be around 9.85%. Which is still a monster.

I'll post this again since it looks like some people missed it.

Last 3 kms are 6%. Read the link for more details. They are taking a detour for construction reasons.

It'll be interesting to see who gets softened up the most on these lower slopes, assuming the pace stays high.

With these high altitudes, the gaps should be big. It's made for the goats.

Hirt, Pozzo, Soler and Nieve.

With the exception of tgis years giro where Kruijswijk was bad everywhere he normally is really good at high altirude.

I really sucj at typing on phines.
