The prologue start times generally imply which rider is team leader, and Martin starts last for THR.

.

That doesn't mean anything if a rider starts last or not. Martin is a better prologue rider than Rogers so of course he'll start last. Trust me. Rogers is the team leader.

The teams can decide which rider they use to fill in the slot. I actually expected Martin to get team leadership for this one, and the start list confirms this. But we'll see.

Rogers is the better rider and he's stated on numerous occasions that if he performs in Switzerland and is on song for July, he won't need to work the Cavendish train at all and they will make sure someone is with him.

There's no argument about that, but I thought his season so far is enough proof that he deserves a chance to ride for himself in the Tour. But maybe HTC think otherwise.

It'll be intereting to see how Hesjedal's doing. He's been pretty consistent so far with 5th in ToC, 12th in Basque Country and 6th in Catalunya.

True, but perhaps he can drag himself up and kick hard on the descent/downhill parts.
he probably wont win but expect a top 10 at the very least for him.

I guess he is so sick and tired of those accusations that he's just going to blow everyone away with 15+ seconds on second :p. Live feed starts around 6 pm CET I think.

I guess that means the V8 engine which was originally going to be used at the tour will be finally put to use.

OR

maybe cancellara will lose on purpose to trick us that he is not using the engine.

Quality Field

Interesting to see the number of Quality riders in this field. This event really is growing. So many top riders now using this as tour prep while the field in the Dauphine seems almost secongd rate this year

+1 Yeah i definitely agree for the second most important french stage race the Dauphine has been a real let down in terms of riders and organisation, poor coverage to. Suisse on the otherhand really on the up and expecting exciting racing

Too bad the Swiss made it such a weak race so their national hero can win. Silly to use it for Tour prep really, its such a wussy course for such things. I guess it is good prep for everyone looking to get second or lower in the Tour.

The TDS is growing. Really? Been around forever.
It's always been considered the 4GT.

Still, it's only got most of the big names this year, as it's a very easy edition. Ideal for getting the pre-Tour miles in, without busting a gut.
Only has about 4 real climbs in the whole race.

Soon to be renamed the Cancellara Classic.
As for coverage...........wait and see.
Hope folks have good Italian.

Roche in best time at the split?

I don't know. The live ticker is talking about riders like "Le Belge Stijn Deveninsr"... is that Stijn Devolder or Dries Devenyns?
(I don't know who's in Switzerland for QST, except for Tombo)
