Looks like a day for the sprinters, particularly Cav. He got over the climbs well yesterday with the other sprinters and he'll be annoyed if he comes away from Switzerland empty handed.

Hard to tell what the finish is like, but it looks uphill again?

Not so sure we will see a sprint today. The way they have ridden this race so far I expect the pace to be high over the two Cat 3 climbs and there are a few other lumpy bits to deal with also. Both Shack and Saxo will have no interest in giving a stage to Cav and with the GC so tight a few guys maybe looking to gain 5 seconds or so with that last spike in the road just 5/6km from the finish.

Hoping to see someone like Roche or Casar go for a win today.

Since they're trying to manufacture a Cancellara win, they had to neutralise most of the high mountains they used until a few years ago, but they want to provide entertainment somehow, so avoiding boredom sprints is a good idea.

In contrast to last year, where they did clearly plan a Cancellara win, that's not the case this year. The Albula stage is too difficult for FC. But, compared to "normal" TdS editions, still ridicolous.

A chance for sprinters today. Regensberg climb half as steep and much further from the finish line, so should not be a big obstacle for sprinters:

Tickers are up and running.

Brice Feillu has taken a solo flyer. Looks like it is going to be a quiet stage until the last few km.

Kreuziger has said he didn't force himself yesterday and he is taking things easy in preperation for the Tour.

I wonder how young Roman feels about Basso's sudden decision to chase the Giro-Tour double?

Liquigas need to ride for Kreuziger in July. They also need to leave Bennati behind and bring in Chicchi, who has the ability to match and beat Cav. Bennati doesn't anymore.

At the start of the season it seemed like Liquigas were saying that they were supporting Basso/Pellizotti for the Giro and Kreuziger/Nibali for the TdF. Obviously Pellizotti's suspension changed things slightly, but it does sort of seem like Basso appointed himself TdF captain.

Yeah, Bennati's time is over it seems.

Basso seems to be a nice guy. Although Kreuziger can't stand him, Basso will support him fully if Basso himself sees no chance for podium. He did it in an impressive way when Nibali was wearing rosa in the giro. On the other hand, it will be hard to imagine seeing Kreuziger riding for Basso...

You're perfectly right... Basso is the captain (and ofc it's not self appointed).
Then, things can change on the run, you know, if Basso can't stay strong as was in the Giro.
If Pellizzotti will run, he isn't really going to help Basso, that's for sure, but Kreuziger will.
All of that, only if Basso will remain in his good form. :D

the problem occurs when kreuzinger thrashes Basso in the prologue because this is not Bassos strength but is kreuzingers will he then become self rietious and refuse to help Basso? lets hope not because kreuzinger has never shown in a 3 week tour anything like Basso has. Can anyone really see kreuzinger dominating a gt mountain stage?!
Basso must be supported fully because he requires a high pace and kreuzinger could be a useful domestique for him

Basically i really dis like kreuzingers attitude getting angry with basso last year. One of them isnt a team player and Basso proved beyond all doubt that he is one. Kreuzinger was bad at the tour last year in comparison to Nibali and never worked for him, same applied in the vuelta where he helped basso in only 1 stage. I hope liqui send him packing at the end of the end of the year and use Basso for Giro-Tour, Nibali for Tour Vuelta and give Szymdt a chance at the vuelta also as i think he would prove to be very capable
