Tomorrow we should have sunshine an 13° in Sölden, how good is Spilak on such a steep long climb?

He's a very good climber. Actually underrated by many. If he feels alright he should do well. The steepness is a little unknown, but he is always good in short steep climbs of Pais Vasco, even though he isn't a punchy rider. He likes longer steady climbs. The distance of the stage is good, too. I don't expect him to win tomorrow, but certainly hope he can remain in striking distance to attack in the TT.

Where is Netserk with his profiles when we need him the most?
Do you need the Rettenbachferner profile?

Thanks.

I just went to this site and couldn't find it. I guess I must be doing something wrong!

Type in the name of the climb top right (search) and then click the climb and then you get stats and at the right side you can click profile.

1. Moreno
2. second Moreno
3. another Moreno

Moreno crashed today. I don't know if he 's feeling ok.

Which one? Dani finished 6th today so he should be okay.
Moreno Moser crashed

Aka the best Moreno. Where did you predict him to finish. 1., 2., or 3.? :)

He was 4th

1 Miguel Angel Lopez Moreno
2 Daniel Moreno Fernandez
3 Julián David Arredondo Moreno

Where does it rank in conversation with Mortirolo, Zoncolan and Angliru, what do you think?
Libertine called it a Mortirolo at high alttitude in the Discovering Austria thread, a pretty good description.

Zoncolan is way harder but shorter. Moritirolo has at a bit of steeper parts but overall around the same gradient and length.

What a beast of a climb.

And this stage is 240 km, holy ***. I don't think the tour has a harder stage and before the climb it already goes rather hard with false flat. Not sure though cause of the *** profile.

2008 was gesink's best year not?

I'm pretty sure the dutch are still salty about the whole ventoux? DT still mad at evans? :D

This stage has Dumoulin written all over it.

You mean like "Dumoulin loses leader's jersey on tough 5th stage of Tour de Suisse"?

Seems likely.

Pinot to win by outsprinting Fuglsang who will be riding tempo.
Anyone knows how well Pinot and Majka handle such a long distances?
I think those 3 should take top 3.
1. Fuglsang/Pinot
2. Fuglsand/Pinot
3. Majka

All within 20s

Birdsong vs Pinot vs Spilak. Go go Pinot. Hopefully, Pozzo will put in a good performance. Of course, I'm interested in how G does. He looks strong, but this is damage limitation time (for Dumoulin too).

For once, I'm not going to "hype" Majka on such a stage, since he's been working hard. Obviously Tinkov will be looking to finally get Sagan into the yellow jersey tomorrow :D

Rettenbackferner > Zonc > Mortirolo

Remember that they'll finish at 2669m, so discount the last km.

The stage would be even better with Piller Höhe from Fließ, 7km at 10,2% with a 20% steep ramp, that could really tire a few riders out and break their legs before the final climb.
That would make the stage 10km longer.

Heart says Fuglsang, head says Pinot. I think those two will definitely be in the top three. Other contenders are Spilak, Majka and Pozzovivo. Expect a good performance from Lopez as well.

How is Lopez in steep climbs btw?
