Also 15th, Kitzbüheler Horn (7,4km @ 11,7%) in the 2012 Österreich Rundfahrt. 16th on Angliru in Vuelta 2011, 9th on Malbun (14,4km @ 8,6%) in the 2011 Tour de Suisse. There's also the 2nd on La Pandera to consider but that, like Angliru 2013, was from the break.Bushman said:The only result I can find from Fuglsang in a comparable climb is on Angliru in Vuelta 2013. Not very relevant, unfortunately, by the looks of things now. Much better climber now than in 2011-12. Mont Ventoux from the 2013 Tour might be the only slightly comparable climb. Those 10 km's in the forest are 9.3% avg, and Fuglsang eventually finished 7th on the stage.Libertine Seguros said:Also 15th, Kitzbüheler Horn (7,4km @ 11,7%) in the 2012 Österreich Rundfahrt. 16th on Angliru in Vuelta 2011, 9th on Malbun (14,4km @ 8,6%) in the 2011 Tour de Suisse. The Barb said:Damn I'm looking forward to this. Gaps could be huge.
Fuglsang looks like a different man and I suspect we might be about to see a Mikel Landa at the Giro type quantum leap in form/ability.
LaFlorecita said:Fuglsang and Pinot to battle it out for the win, Majka 3rd about a minute back. Sagan finishes 14th, Dumoulin 27th.

This is a guy who was fourth among top ten cyclists in the double Alpe d'Huez TDF stage two years ago (Quintana, Rodriguez and Froome were better). If he has a good race tomorrow it will not be a surprise.

Kwibus said:Epic climb.
Time gaps will be very interesting with the TT still coming. If dumoulin for example is able to keep the gap at 2 minutes... Hmm no way .. He will lose more.
Good course by tds though! This climb will create big gaps in favour of the climbers and the TT will create gaps in favour of the TT speciAlists. Someone who is really allround should take this tds.

Called back to wait for Nibali.
You are both right. Fuglsang was 7th amongst those not in the break, but he was also 4th amongst those who was in top 10 (Valverde, Nieve, Porte were not in top 10).The Barb said:ciranda said:The Barb said:Damn I'm looking forward to this. Gaps could be huge.

I think actually Fuglsang was actually 7th amongst those who were not in the break that day, but your point is fair. I guess what I am meaning is that he has generally been below the elite guys, but with his weight loss and the Astana polish I suspect he might be about to go to another level.

In other words: go De Gendt!
