watching the replay from above, swift does a good job to make space for the wombat, and i think the latter would have won if he had then opened his sprint to his right where there was space
Fiorelli nowhere to be seen!! The fool must’ve used all his energy in the first k of the prologue yesterday.
God forbid a top rider treat this winter training race the way it's supposed to be treated. He was probably too busy trying to take selfies with koalas. Proper stuff.Fiorelli nowhere to be seen!! The fool must’ve used all his energy in the first k of the prologue yesterday.
Gudmestad seemed to look under the arm and give Van Poppel reason to think twice after his lead out was done. They should credit him with joint 1st.
Danish TV2's preview of the race said there will be a significant headwind on the final climb and on the final run-in tomorrow. Is that still the case? If so, I think there might be more separation to be had on Willunga, where according to that preview there will be tailwind. But forecast could have changed, of course.Tomorrow is the big GC day. There will be gaps,

Yeah, very odd indeed. It seems that only Narvaez is going for the GC because in the intermediate sprint he was the only one who sprinted.
3 seconds for him.
Wellsford, the Wombat? I love it!watching the replay from above, swift does a good job to make space for the wombat, and i think the latter would have won if he had then opened his sprint to his right where there was space
Thanks for posting this, I missed stage 1 cause of time zone difference brainfart. Not today though!

What finish did you watch? Welsford didn't really get to open his sprint at all but that aside Brennan was definitely moving quicker.Welsford slightly quicker than Brennan.
Mayrhofer has several broken bones, a.o the collarbone, from a crash during the stage. Thanks for posting this, I missed stage 1 cause of time zone difference brainfart. Not today though!

In addition to the following top ten Van der Meulen and Mayrhofer DNFed. Van der Meulen was due to the crash (I wish the youngster a speedy recovery!), but Mayrhofer I'm unsure about.

The same finish I watched. Take a look at the photo finish, despite Welsford being forced to power down, he still manages a very close third, whereas Brennan with a clear path should've been further in front if his speed was superior. What finish did you watch? Ah, I did not see the whole stage and only saw the quicky recap which mainly focused on Van der Meulen, bummer for Mayrhofer too then!Mayrhofer has several broken bones, a.o the collarbone, from a crash during the stage.
That would be early candidate for upset of the year!Teutonic Tim Torn Teutenberg for another top ten today?
(His parents seemed to have been into alliteration, might as well keep the party going.)
