But you're correct, both Van Eetvelt and Rutsch were involved in a crash. Rutsch is already out and Van Eetvelt's continued participation is up in the air.

looks like the same finish as 2023, when Coquard left everyone else miles behind. So yeah, should suit Brennan
Narvaez is also the favorite in a final like this, perhaps even more so than in Willunga.

If Brennan is in good form, it's a finish suited to that type of sprinter.
He didn't look as strong today as he did the other day.
Don't know how comfortable I am with those Eneos outfits, give me the feeling like that women's team that had skin colored kits.

Pretty sure the science would say today's conditions would be exactly the same had they not flown the teams and riders from Europe.
But everyone was looking forward to the first triple ascent of Willunga. Now its gone. The Adelaide forecast for today has risen from 36C earlier this week to now 43C.
Super hot weather around Adelaide in January is not unusual. But I'm not sure what they could do other than moving the entire race to the Snowy Mountains. But that isn't feasible for commercial and logistical reasons. Rider safety must come first. There is the heat but also the bushfire risk is real and serious.
Its not so bad when they drastically shorten stages in the Giro for snowstorms as you are not flying teams from the other side of the world for a 5 stage race.
Willunga Hill removed, stage 4 shortened as Tour Down Under hit by extreme fire danger rating and scorching temperatures
Stage distance reduced to 131km as temperatures of 43°C forecast for Saturday

And it's not just the riders, fans are being addressed as well in the official TDU X message posted upthread.
"Fans are asked to avoid riding up Willunga Hill, be sun-smart, seek shade and remain hydrated, and most importantly, follow messages from emergency services authorities throughout the day."

He wasn't involved in the crash yesterday, the commentator goofed. Vine said in post-race interview he was glad he was able to avoid the crash.

Yates and Oliveira if we're talking just about the UAE guys. (There was also Cepeda, Van Uden, Knox, and Walsh from other teams.)
Per PCS it looks like everybody is starting today though, so at least there weren't any catastrophic injuries.

I looked a little bit and all I really found out is half of Lotto got fines for not wearing race numbers that were visible.
I am wondering if UAE is going to give the Australian race to an Australian, Vine really looks great.. Johnny doesn't have great looking leg speed..

Thanks, this seems like a good suggestion. Tour of Guanxhi is currently conducted in October. I checked and in January the weather in Guanxhi is quite mild. October in South Australia would be perfect IMO and a much easier transition for teams and riders coming from Europe. It can still get hot but nothing like expected today.

I should be used to the double standards that practically any European race receives in comparison to our races.

have you considered that it is the same standard thats being applied, but the different cases are just simply different across several parameters and not only the most focal one
