I remember Dan was pretty strong the day before. He's a bit inconsistent like that, certainly in the first half of the season.

Well as known that has its reasons. They tried something again this winter with Dan for his allergies to stop. Hopefully it worked and Dan can race the best he can all year long.

I doubt if pollen is the problem when it comes to a race in early February. If he's a bit up and down at that time of year, it's just likely to be ordinary, common or garden, dodgy form.

That said, I couldn't agree more with you about hoping that they come up with some kind of viable solution for his breathing problems. It's a crying shame that the major races which should be most suited to him - the Ardennes and the Giro - are the very ones where he is crippled by his allergies.

Thanks

I must be tripping though or something, I thought it started 8th of February all this time

Probably because it used to be 5 days, and most 5-day races start on Wednesday to put the key stages at the weekend.

Still, the race was threatened with extinction, so I'll take a 4-day race over that any day.

Poels is in Spain training (Mallorca I think), so he wont be riding.

ya i was sure he didn't ride here.

vasc. tend to override thier riders imo, so I don't mind if he waits another week.

He now has the same trainer as Jurgen VDB, so you'll probably only really see him in once or two races this year :p

Aww no Poels :(

Maybe Valls or Denifl can do something for Vacansoleil :p

It's intresting how I care about these races a lot more, now that I'm participating in the CQ game.
