Nice bit of chauvinism from the Sporza-commentators.

Langeveld takes the best time of a Belgian. Their reply? "The wind must have come down"

Because yes, it's impossible Langeveld would take the best time from Debuscherre under normal conditions??

Like I referred to above, the race went through a really long period where noone (not even a few good TTers) came close.

Now new faces enter the Top-10 every few minutes. It was a pretty plausible explanation.

No, the plausible explanation is better names.

Did you see the names that came in who finished 25 seconds behind all the time? That were prutsers like Bartje Wellens and co.

Now look at Gaetan Bille and Klaas Vantornout, just 2 minutes after Westra, and their times suck.

It's just the quality of the riders ffs. Stop believing Belgians

Darijus Dzervus, 42 seconds behind, just finished.
My, the wind must have turned again, because he isn't getting close.

Oh but now Albert is top 10, so the wind after Dzervus must have turned immediately again.

So is Jelle Wallays a 'quality' TTer then in your book? The young man did a pretty good time as well.

since when doesa prologue of 5km have anything to do with ITT qualities?

Just 5km of explosiveness

Okay...

So is Jelle Wallays then a quality 'explosive' rider in your book? The young man...

He is young.. so yes. See also Debusscherre (or however you spell his name)

He is motivated and riding his home race

Stop being such an idiot. But yeah you are right, prologues have everything to do with wind and itt quality
And especially the wind changes every second so that's why a rider who sets a new best time is followed by a rider that is 40 seconds slower. Must had different wind.

I agree with you that a prologue is not an TT, but the explanation " He is young so he is explosive" is ..ehm..not very solid.
