Hmmm... Boom's GC chances go BOOM!

Tankink is high on GC as well, but wont beat Gerdemann or Rogers in the TT.

Indeed. And when is the last time Gerdemann did a great TT?

Special shoutout to stagiaire Bert-Jan Lindeman, riding a great Tour of Britain.

Gerdeman, tankink and tiernan-locke all on same time on gc. Rogers is about 25 - 30 seconds back. Think there may be some fireworks if they stay away.

Most certainly. He's definitely shown he deserves that two-year deal Vac. have signed him to.

Funny, I was aware of the existence of Lindeman, but didn't know anthing about him, nor rated him, prior to Vac. taking him on. Nice to see we have talents everywhere these days.

I think you may have a point, some of the lesser riders would get wasted very quickly, but the constant avoiding of Porlock hill is strange-I've been up in a car and its looks tough and would blow the race to bits.

A lot of big races seem to avoid climbs that are known to local club riders. There are some smashing short climbs around the North Downs in Kent on roads no narrower than say the Tour of Flanders. The problem is always the logistics of devising a winding route which would cause enormous disruption.

You only have to look at the Surrey Cycle classic and the backlash against that! Its a real shame as you could have some potential classic 1 day race routes in the UK.

We wont know until Sunday really - not sure he has ever ridden a professional time trial!

Rabobank are chasing. Topsport helping a little, Rabobank trying to get HTC to help.

With Boom, they were big GC favourites. Even with Tankink there, they are losing out.

Rabobank only have Matthews, Flens and Vermeltfoort to chase with

Maybe Tankink can thin or drop this group in the finale

same reason they avoid porlock hill every time it goes to north devon. (and countless climbs in north yorks, peaks etc)

Im guessing that they think those climbs are too hard and would be too decisive for the overall.

Porlock Hill gives me the shivers

Hopefully he's ridden some club 10 ITT'S or something as a kid, perhaps he can pull of a shock.

Might get himself a better contract in anycase because he's doing well.

I guess Boom just was dropped on the climb, otherwise you don't let guys who are so close on GC go. Not much the DS can do about that.

It's Frans Maassen BTW.

Just no. Otherwise he wouldn't be with the first groups in the past stages
Boom being great the one day, and awful the next? What a surprise.

Why else would he let such a group go?
