when is the last time a belgian team won a GT btw?
BADA BOEM
Rabo aren't very successful at the moment, that's what counts. Most of the current teams weren't even around during Rabo's glory days

I rather win Ronde van Vlaanderen, Paris-Roubaix, Ronde van Lombardije and the world championships in one season though :p

Menchov did it all on his own anyway :p

I'm sure El Pistolero would agree.

If you mean Contador, he would probably prefer 3 monuments and WC over a Vuelta. But that's just guessing.

Anyhow, Breschel will win the Overall here and save Rabo's Vuelta.

Looks like it. Quite ironic that they had Leopard guys in front while they lost Fuglsang. Still over one minute gap and only 15 to go.

How far behind was Fuglsang?

Nah, Breschel can't win the Tour of Denmark. His TT really sucks. Maybe Kruijswijk was in that front group, he might just do it (although against Porte or something he's obviously nowhere).

I heard Mollema is going to ride the Vuelta as well (and Kruijswijk). Could be a nice Vuelta for them.

Oh, never paid attention to his time trial skills. Well, at least a stage then. Anything hilly coming up?

Stage results

Losing 1.34 today: Fuglsang, Larsson, Porte, Rasmussen, Meyer...

Kruijswijk FTW!

Fuglsang needs to be taken out the back by a few of the tabby cat cycling team and give a right kicking.

Be he is on good money and not performing.

Dude. Unless there is a massive earthquake and suddenly a HC col appears in Denmark, Kruijswijk will never win
On one of these stages, there's a local circuit with a steep climb in it, which usually splits the field. It's not enough to shake off all good time trialists, but all good time trialists lost time today...

Stages 2 and 3 are quite hilly - as hilly as it can get when the highest point is 173 meters above sea level. The stage to Aarhus (tomorrow) might end up with a bunch sprint, a rider going solo, or a decimated peloton chasing the honors. Nicki Sørensen won here solo in 2009 and Matti Breschel won a six-man sprint in 2007, so there's different variables. It's usually not a decisive stage though.

Stage 3 is the Queen stage. The circuit in Vejle is tough, with the 21 % climb up Kiddesvej being the major obstacle. It's a short hill but the three ascents always split the bunch to pieces.

Stage 4 has quite a difficult finish with a 7 % climb, and it might split the peloton yet again.

My guess is Kruijswijk will be dropped in that hilly stage and finish somewhere 15th or something in the time trial.

And the Vuelta is way more important than the Tour of Denmark. I wouldn't get my hopes up

I don't care if he wins this race, I just took a look at the climbers in that first group, and... well, there aren't that many. But Breschel is the only team leader, so maybe Rabo have seen some TT ability that I haven't :)

Bobridge and Meyer have done exactly diddly squat since January.
The latter must be thanking his lucky stars over his fortunate breakaway,
'winner takes all' at the TDU, great giveaway points bonanza.
