What are your thoughts on the Amstel Gold Race and some of the Flanders Classics?
Btw, there's a parallel to this in golf. A golf course is derogatively called a Mickey Mouse course when it has gimmicky features that make it feel more like a casual or novelty experience than a proper championship-level course. Like if you design a golf course in the same way as a minigolf course.

The similar phenomenon in cycling is not debated as much. But if you made a race where the riders must first climb the Alpe d'Huez, then descend, and then go up again from the bottom and so forth, some might be critical.

Farewell sweet prince! Hope he shows the young guns how racing and post game media is being done the right way one last time.
Shame his nemesis Alaphilippe and Froome are dodging him for this final showdown.

Yeah, Froome should have participated here and stopped his career after stage 5.

Who tf is niklas Larson man. Mods should intervene with Danish inside jokes they've gone too far
Have you seen the ragtag band of mercenaries the Danes are fielding too, it's like a Fuglsang testimonial match, expecting Peter Schmeichel, Jamie Lannister from Game of Thrones and Queen Margrethe to be subbed on after stage 3 to shake some buckets on the roadside to raise some money for his retirement.

Grenke even seem to have got mixed up and sent out the wrong prodigious Dane, where is young Noah!!!

Dunno are there rules about club riders? I assumed he could just rock up.

I suppose starting him for the National Team (like the Rookies' Clemmensen) would be his best possibility, if he - and Grenke - wanted so.
However, there's still the fact that he's a junior, although an older one.

Fuglsang has been talking about how he hasn't trained that much after the Giro, so I kind of expected him to go full 2008 Giro Contador on everybody's behinds, but after he crashed earlier it's more likely to be a different version of Contador we'll be seeing.

It will be interesting to see how the peloton gets through the sharp turn at the bottom of Helligpedervej on the circuit. A stop with some of the riders at the back having to unclip will be acceptable, I guess - but only the first time. The inner turn is steeper than 20 percent.

I expect the peloton to split after the first ascent.

The somewhat less prolific '2014 Col du Platzerwasel' Contador?

Little bit of stoppage at the entrance to Helligpeder, while the not holy Pedersen goes to the front of the peloton.

Haugsted won the DOH sprint.

Quite obvious to me that Fuglsang really didn't care that much, but even a 100% Fuglsang wouldn't really stand a chance. He's way past it

Nice Flandrian course here, Søren Kragh is constantly just taking advantage of Mads being marked.

Ok, now Lidl doesn‘t have to work but I don‘t think SKA can catch the break and he‘s also just killing himself here, doesn‘t make that much sense.

Helligpedervej is great in many ways - but it should not have been included in this race.

Yeah, seems pretty clear they'd hoped/expected that the peloton would be more stretched out.

But here's an idea:
A prologue up the climb. Just from the corner - or many slightly before so riders can actually get up-to-speed - up to where the DOH sprint is.
